Ok...get ready for the story of my life in the last 2 months
I actually joined this company thinking that since I love to train people, doing corporate training should be fine and told the manager that even though they have a company that teaches primary/secondary school I am not interested.
My fault for accepting their job offer and compromise when they say I need only to do some schools and will be helping out the HQ work. I should not have done that....in the end i feel that as someone who is new to the company, I am taking up a huge responsibility, getting involved in a NATIONAL competition that affects the reputation of the company and the school. In order to win, they adopt the moral standard of "the ends justify the means" Those who have eyes, can see clearly.
Cut short: What I expect to do did not materialised and furthermore, forcing me to do something I think is morally not right. Of course did not say to them it is morally wrong but use other excuses. My feeling is that the more I tell them areas I am not comfortable, the more they treat it like complain. So things got worse and I got warning letter.
Still things did not improve and after a very hectic 2 weeks that results in some very bad experiences I decided to ask for part time job instead of full time so I can just do corporate training. Instead they ask me to take no pay leave for 1 week followed by 2 weeks so a total of 3 weeks to sort of this issue. in the middle of it all, they ask me to state reasons for asking for part time in writing
Guess what...after 3 weeks, so basically month of September I have little pay, they ask me to resign and pay them 3 months salary in lieu (in the contract). Normally if company wants to terminate, they have to pay compensation to workers to leave immediately without serving notice. So in order to save money, they asking me to leave "on my own" and pay the 3 months to them by saying that I did a lot of things wrong.
I told them flat I refuse to pay and even compromise to defuse the situation by telling them I will give them 3 months notice + 3 months no pay leave and everyone would be happy since no money need to change hands. Furthermore I even offer not to look for a full time employer during the period and will work for them (effectively saying I am not being paid to do any job). My ex-boss quickly go to see his boss and come back just to say 'No'.
Ok, I then say what if this request to do part time never happened and then they show me a 'final warning' letter and in it are all the reasons for changing to part time that I WROTE + an unfortunate problem with a customer. I accept the warning and the management wants me to write a 'letter of reflection' to 'assure' them that such things never happen again.
What sick joke...I told my reasons for changing to part time and they use it against me to say these are the things I screwed up. It is because I screwed up and I know that these jobs are not what I can do (plus the morality issue) I ask for part time job. If I can do it why should I ask for part time and reduction of the job scope?
The manager told me they want the letter of reflection (basically another letter they can use against me if you think about it) by the same night (see the attitude: here is a problem, and instead of working the issue together, they start ordering people). I left the meeting promptly after.
After I finished the letter and re-read it, I find that it is not right. Basically I am taking up ALL the blame with no solution from the management and the management side all said that they did what they can do without really looking into the matter. Furthermore by writing the letter would also not give me any assurance that I will have my job in part time and instead a high probability that they will sack me using a one-sided clause in the contract.
I decided to resign and give them 3 months notice (and this in probation period mind you). The company then replied back saying that they terminate me using that one-sided clause that I shared. So in the end, what i have predicted did come true. And few days later they sent a registered mail and in it is a demand to pay 3 months salary in lieu.
This is one company that work with schools, WDA and NTUC and I am flabbergasted with their management style and mistreatment. Am I a perfect worker? No one is but we all want to work peacefully without any problems. And all the certificates and appreciation from the various ministries just hide the rot within this company.
So
- MOM refuse to see my case because of my pay scale
- NTUC took my case because I am a member
NTUC called the 'black shop' and last heard they want to engage lawyers. Now planning next steps.

My take on all this:
This country is getting a lot of tertiary educated workforce that will be executives in the companies they work in. However because they are executives and/or their pay scale is above the threshold, they are not protected under the employment act and consequently the companies saw that and used it against executives.
Therefore these sandwiched class of workers cannot find representation and cannot afford lawyers as well (like me) and most of them did not know about NTUC (lucky me I checked my membership priviledges).
However I will be on my own if this becomes a civil case and I do need help in this.
These people at A** are really fear mongers...they basically use fear tactics through the use of contract terms to scare people into submission. They do have some foreign talents working for them and in some ways, uses work permit as a blackmail tactic.
So those who have eyes...can see really clearly

Curious ~ Why MOM don't help you in this case ~ how much is the max pay they don help ?? that sound you got more salary than us ~
I join ACP long time ago ~ just waitin for Contract to be OVER ~ those my time gt peanut salary ~ bt for those just join ACP i think can get 1.6k - 1.8k ~ really not fair in their stupid system ~ still ask people to recontract ~ hahaha ~ don wan go and sail with priate ship again ~
As long as you are excuetive level or salary above 2.5k but not at excuetive level, I think MOM will not interfer.
I think it is not fair to copy and paste the contents here without prior agreement of the originator. Although you guys want to get back at them, do think about those who may be implicated without knowledge. Can the owner of this blog contact the originator of this story? Thanks
It make it very obvious to those working back in company to know who exactly the person who wrote the article is.
There's a lot grievance in this "unique" company. Many people suffered yet have no ways to get their voices heard.
Many wanted to get out from company yet being threaten by 3 month salary. Worst, this is how they calculate your 3 month - Basic pay + CPF Contribution.
So if your pay is 1.6, you're be paying 1.84. So for 3 month , you will be paying minimum 5.52k
Worst, during Christmas, everyone will have bonus, and you have to watch and hear about it...
Then end of contact, trick you to resign contract.
Most people take up the job because of the "promised" increment and incentive, which never happen.
It's good to know they have a vision. Yet a vision without action and without proper handling of people and management is a empty vision. A vision that will never come to past.
To be honest. The current management is really not that bad... They spend more time working because of their incapabilities to perform. While other management in other companies have more time with their families, these people "sacrifices" their freedom for the "good" of the companies...
Too bad, they only brought more tragedies...
Due to lack of trainers in this industry, the salary range has increased for new comers. Worst, they might be even more highly paid than old timers who worked very hard for the company yet salary might not even be on par with them.
Pity those old timers... they are really idiots (old timers)... being ill treated for so long yet don't know they have been tricked. Some more so stupid, continue to serve the company even when they are being under paid.

MOM will not be bothered about this anymore.
There's nearly cases that MOM tried to track them down but they are very good in avoiding via office phone and office handphones as well as covering up.
Ouch, sick, you're really sick. You called those old timers idiots? So who exactly are you? Someone new? Some old timers? Or basically not even part of this? I doubt you even know what these people actually goes through.
Even if they still exists in the company, who the hell are you that these people have to tell you how many are working for them and who are they? It's none of your dammit business because you're just adding fuel to fire.
Forget about MOM, ACP is good at showing BLACK and WHITE...
They will set you up with a special method developed by them, called- "Acute Cons-Piracy" scheme.
Warning letters plus false accusation plus lawyer letters and you'll be on your way paying them 3 month.
Complain to MOM, they show them black and white, the reflections that you wrote to them!
Trust me, if you didn't fulfill your contract, 100% you have to pay. There are no way you can run away from it, because they need to "honor" their contract.
you guys are so wrong abt paying the 3 mths salary. It is not true that you die-die have to pay them. I am a living example. Not only did I leave before the fulfillment of 2 years, i made sure they paid me every single cent of my salary after i left.
You can always approach you MP and tell them your plight. Yes, black and white, but what abt the issue of a "Fair Contract"?. You guys need to read more about Contract Law and get legal advice. You can get it cheap and almost free at your nearest CC or Safra. Or Legal Aid Bureau.
Approach you MP for help too. Do not fear the tyrant. I have stood against them, and won the fight. I am all game if they want to bring this to court.

For your information, if you're from design background, you can easily get a job of $1,800 as basic salary and you're also given 13th month bonus and on top of that, they pay you all of your medical fees (when you see a doctor, of coz)
Now in ACP, you can't see a doctor if you want that stupid $200.
Sound like encouraging people to get sick and not seek treatment.
And to counter the unhappiness of staff, they come out "testimonials" to tell people how they make staff happy~ If I'm Sick, Always Cheat People is more sick!
Doing this hoping more people are willing to part their 3 month~~ Imagine 100 plus staff leave at the same time. That's really - "FcukACP"! Action is better than words, guys!

This bloody company say till so nice $12/hr. Cheat our money when they call us to be replacement staff. Get puny miserable $60 for whole day work?
Ask us to travel here and there, think we superman? within 30mins can travel from central to jurong? take cab they also won't pay us what. And anyhow send us to schools, even if we do not know how to use the software. how you want us to teach? disgrace the company by saying "i dont know, they just ask me here?"
Awesome. I guess think this is just the start of my suffering. more to come. Dreading to leave but I can't due to the contract.
